William Scott

William Alfred Scott of Chapel Hill, passed away February 24, 2020 at home after a brief illness. He was born on April 12th, 1950 in Durham and was a lifelong resident of Chapel Hill. Billy is survived by his daughters, Courtney Scott Lawrence (Turner) Chapel Hill, Jennifer Cox (Mason); grandchildren, Emory Fox, Jack Lawrence, Mackenzie, Mason and Mary Scott Cox all of Chapel Hill. Siblings Tommy Scott (Deanie), Rougemont, Janet McFarland (Fred), Chapel Hill, Mike Scott and Jeff Scott (Anna) both of Pittsboro and nieces and nephews, Kelly Durham, Amanda Scott, Kevin Scott,Rick Scott, Corey Scott, Alex Scott, Travis Scott and Ashton Singer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Scott, mother, Kathryn Scott, father, Durwood Scott ,and brother Ken Scott. A visitation and celebration of life will be held at the family home ~ 6112 Graystone Drive from 2-4 on Saturday February 29th. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at UNC, UNC Health Foundation, Attn: UNC Lineberger, PO Box 1050, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
