William Hogan

March 1, 1942 — July 6, 2018

William “Bob” Robert Hogan Bob passed away unexpectedly after complications with lung cancer on July 6, 2018. He was born March 1st, 1942, to the late Ethel and Clyde Hogan. Bob grew up on a family farm in Chapel Hill, with his parents, brother Tommy and sister Barbara Jean. Bob ventured out early in life, living in Atlanta and Houston for several years, but returned to Chapel Hill to run the family farm after his father passed away. Bob was an incredibly curious individual and in addition to farming he dabbled in business, attending Campbell college for several years. He also was a certified electrician, plumber, real estate, and a U.S. Postmaster. Bob is survived by his brother Tommy (Sandra) and sister Barbara Jean and their families. Bob was a confirmed bachelor but adored his nephew and nieces. All loved their Uncle Bob. These include nephews Jim (Connie) and Glen and niece Debbie. Great-niece Chelsey and great-nephews Michael, Trey (Savannah) and Tyler. And great, great nieces Kennedy, Lennox, and Berkleigh. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Nick Nichols. A graveside memorial service was held on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 11:30am at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Kori Robins. Bob loved animals, and every one of his pets was a rescue. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the APS of Orange County, 1601 Eubanks Road, Chapel Hill, NC. Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is assisting the Hogan family.
