William Dee Blake, Jr.

Chapel Hill - Mr. William Dee Blake, Jr. "Bill", passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 9, 2020. He was born on August 3, 1945 in Durham, to the late William Dee Blake, past Chief of the Chapel Hill Police Department, and Grace Johnson Blake. Bill is survived by his daughters, Leslie Blake of Hillsborough; Karen Carden, and her husband, Mike, of Chapel Hill; and grandchildren, Kaeley Sykes and Daphne Carden. In addition to loving his family and the family dogs, Bill was an avid Tar Heel fan, golfer, and dog lover. Bill sold golf equipment and accesories for several years, retiring in 2005. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at the Chapel Hill Country Club, 103 Lancaster Drive, Chapel Hill, 27517, at a day and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Chapel Hill Police Association K-9 Fund, 828 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. The Blake family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill.
