Warren Parsons

Warren Eugene Parsons of Haw River, North Carolina passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on August 23rd 2018. Warren was born on May 20, 1932 in Quincy, Massachusetts. He served in the US Navy and was honored with medals that included the Good Conduct Medal, the Navy Occupational Service Medal (European Clasp) and the National Defense Service Metal. Following his military service, he attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Warren fully retired in 2008 at which time he was able to spend more time doing the things he enjoyed and spending time with his family. Warren was a quiet and gentle man who enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Mountains, exploring waterfalls, watching NASCAR, photography and mapping the family genealogy. Warren will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Sylvia Stracke; his children Lauren Hodges, Mary Harris (Mike), Michelle Parsons and Jessica Parsons; his grandchildren Trey Tipton, Sarah Miracle, Mathew Hunter, Travis Hunter and Ashley Harris; his great-grandchildren: Alyssa Tipton, Skylier Tipton, Dean Tipton, Kyla Sharpless, Haylee Sharpless, Avery Sharpless, Paxton Miracle and Waylon Miracle and countless other family and friends. Warren is preceded in death by his mother and father George and Elizabeth Parsons, several brothers and sisters, his daughter Diana Clemens and granddaughter Katherine Harris. Warren was memorialized on Sunday, August 26th 2018, at 3:30pm at Walker’s Funeral Home in Hillsborough, North Carolina. A graveside service followed at Cane Creek Baptist Church in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
