Wade Griffin

Hillsborough - Wade Edward Griffin, 88, of Hillsborough, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Duke Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a precision instrument maker in the Engineering Research Department at NCSU. After retirement, he farmed and operated Griffin's General Service for 35 years. Surviving are his wife, Frances Haley Griffin, his daughter, Katherine G. Von St. Paul (Jim), three sons: Edward H. Griffin (Diane), Michael K. Griffin (Margaret), and James W. Griffin (Mary Ann), his brother, Victor A. Griffin (Marilyn), 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Ruby and Dallas Griffin, two sisters: Madeline G. Borland and Edith G. Yow. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday in Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 PM Thursday in Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Duke Hospice, Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 N.
