Vivian Ann Dodson

Vivian "Ann" Dodson passed away at the age of 60 on March 21, 2021 at AuthoraCare Hospice in Burlington, North Carolina. She courageously battled chronic medical issues from the age of 29 while facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite all of her health issues, Ann stayed strong to the very end full of love, joy, peace, and laughter. She never lost her sense of humor. Ann was born to the late Viven H. C. Dodson and the late Judy E. R. Dodson on June 8, 1960. Ann is survived by her two daughters, Tabitha Best and Wendy Best (Matthew Babel), and her two granddaughters, Mikayla Vanhooke and Anya Stephens, who she loved with a fierce, sacrificial, unconditional love. Ann is also survived by her older sister, Emma Dodson, and her two younger brothers, Thomas Dodson (Amanda) and James Dodson (Mary). Ann loved all of her family. She was such a caring daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, and friend. Before becoming disabled and retiring early, Ann worked as an inspector at W. H. Brady Company. Ann also worked as a medical technician part-time. Ann was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. Once Ann's medical and care needs required greater skill, Ann moved in to Brookshire Nursing facility in her hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina. While there, Ann found joy in making beaded purses, which got her published in a magazine, putting together puzzles, and other crafts and activities. Her hands were never idle. When death neared, Ann reported she had a new job: "Be still and wait for Jesus to come." Ann did her job well, and she is now home with her Lord and Savior. A funeral service is scheduled for 11am on March 25, 2021 at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, North Carolina. A graveside service will follow at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Ann requested for donations to be given to people affected by COVID-19. The Dodson family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough.
