Virginia Partin

January 15, 1915 — January 8, 2012

Virginia Collins Partin passed peacefully into the presence of God on Sunday January 8th after a short illness and a wonderful life. Funeral service will be Friday January 13, 1 PM at Lystra Baptist Church. Virginia was born in Petersburg VA on January 15 1915 to Rufus M Collins and Ella Walker Collins and was reared by her Aunt Ida Bryant. She had one brother, Wilbur, who was killed in action in WWII. She is pre-deceased by her husband W. Benson Partin, and two daughters, Allen Gayle Partin and Peggy Ann Slaydon. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce E Reheis and June C Aguilar; two sons, William B Partin and Phillip L Partin; sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Virginia retired from 30 years of service at Memorial (UNC) hospital where she worked as a technician in Central Sterile Supply. A hard working woman who gave her best at everything, her joy and passion in life was her family. Nothing satisfied her more than time with her husband, sons and daughters and grandchildren. Through all of life's joys and trials her faith and family sustained her. Even in her last years when memory failed, her children and grandchildren brought her happiness and satisfaction. We love you, dear Mother and will miss you until meet again. Funeral arrangements are handled by Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill.
