Tony Neil Penland

Tony Penland, 47, of Roan Mountain, TN answered the call to come home on Monday, October 5, 2020. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Douglas “Doug” Penland and his grandparents Andrew and Louise Sumner and Grover and Hazel Penland. Tony is survived by his wife, Traci and daughters, Haley and Kara of Roan Mountain, Tn; his mother, Sandra Sumner Penland of Cedar Grove, NC; Sisters Stacey Glenn (Scott) of Hurdle Mills and Holli Klootz (Michael) of Cedar Grove, NC. In addition, his extended family, Josh and Joni Shomaker of Roan Mountain, TN and Justin and Carol Ann Johnson of Newland, NC. Tony was uncle to Austin and Cailin Glenn; Carley and Courtney Russell; Mason Clouser; Logan, Layken, Landon, Lillyanna, and Lennon Johnson. Arrangements for Tony will be as follows: Visitation on Friday October 9th from 1 pm until 3 pm at Walkers Funeral Home, 204 N Churton St, Hillsborough, NC with a graveside service officiated by Israel Hughes at 3:30 pm at Walnut Grove Methodist Church in Hurdle Mills, NC. Family will be receiving visitors at the home of Tony’s mother in Cedar Grove, NC. The Penland family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough.
