Thomas Price

Chapel Hill, NC — Thomas Guy Price, 64, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill following a brief and sudden battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Carol (Hnath) Price; his daughter, Meghan Price; his granddaughter, Emma Price; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Clark and Denise Caston-Clark; his brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Elizabeth Price; his nephews Timothy and Daniel Price; his sister, Audra Price; other extended family members; and many close friends. Born and raised in Garden City, NY, he was a resident of Chapel Hill for the last 22 years. Mr. Price is an exempt member of the Garden City Fire Department. After graduating from Garden City High School in 1969, he graduated from University of Dayton in 1974. He met his wife, Carol, at IBM, for whom they both worked. They were married in 1979 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Garden City. Following IBM, he worked for Lenovo, from which he retired. ` A visitation service will be held at Walker's Funeral Home, 120 W Franklin St, Chapel Hill, on Tuesday, January 26, from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
