Shelby A. Norwood, 26, was with us only a short time. She was full of life, joy, laughter and compassion. A cheerleader, golfer, Tarheel fan, she never met a cat or kitten she did not love, Shelby touched many lives by always keeping a happy, cheerful smile and always remaining optimistic. She passed away on February 8 at her home after an eight-year battle with Scleroderma. A selfless soul with an unstoppable zest for life, she showed us the real meaning of strength, inner peace and composure. For everyone she met she wished for them happiness and joy. Shelby is now free from all pain and suffering and can continue her journey of faith, love and happiness with angels and loved ones in the sacred place of heaven. Shelby was born on October 16, 1991, in Nashville, TN. She was graduated from Chapel Hill High School in 2009. She is survived by her parents Tareen Ayers (Burlington) and Joe Norwood (Chapel Hill), sister Lindsey Norwood and nephew, Wyatt Sides (Cary). She will be truly missed and will be in our hearts and memories forever. Shelby’s visitation was held Sunday evening February 11 from 5-7 at Walker’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill N.C.
