Ruby Westbrook

Mebane - Ruby Ann Sentelle Westbrook wife of the late William Ballard Westbrook passed away at her home surrounded by her family and nursing staff after 17 years of failing health. She retired from Alamance County Hospital and began taking care of her parents and grandchildren. She was a loving Christian mother and grandmother "Nanny." Her faith in God carried her through 17 years of not being able to care for herself. Through all of her struggling she never lost her "Ruby smile." Surviving are her daughter, Brenda W. Merritt and husband Jerry, her son, William "Doug" Westbrook and wife Pam, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two sisters: Geri S. Jackson of Greensboro and Carol S. Smith and pastor Benny of Burlington. She was predeceased by her husband Ballard after 63 years of marriage, her parents, Macie and John Sentelle, and her daughter, Vicky Lynn Westbrook. Visitation will be 2 PM Saturday at Mebane Presbyterian Church followed by the funeral service at 3 PM by the Rev. Dr. Jeff Smith and Pastor Scott London of Bethel Baptist Church.
