Roy Hilton

Raleigh - Roy Wayne Hilton, 69, died Monday, August 17, 2015. He was born November 4, 1945 in Durham County and attended the Hillsborough schools. He was the son of Dora Wood Hilton McCauley and William Bert Hilton, Sr. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Winn Dixie as a truck driver after 32 years of service. He was a resident of Raleigh since 1967. Surviving are his daughter, Catherine Renee Hilton, three grandchildren: Jake Creech, Haley Hilton, and Jesse Wayne Hilton, his brother, William B. Hilton, Jr. (Barbara), his sister-in-law, Jan Cagle Hilton, four step-children: Margie Cobbet (Bobby), Jimmy Howington (Pee-wee), Ken Howington, and Annette Hammond. He was predeceased by his parents, his step-father, James Dace McCauley, his daughter, Nicole Hilton, and brother, Johnny Mack Hilton. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Veterans Medical Center in Durham. Special thanks to his best friend forever, Robert Butler of Knightdale, NC. A visitation will be held 2-3:30 PM Saturday, August 22, in Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
