Rosa Carlton

Mebane - Mrs. Rosa Marie James Carlton, 81, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was a native of Orange County and the daughter of the late Eugene and Addie Cole James. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and worked at Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. She first married Edward Yarboro then Banks Holt Wilkerson and later Paul B. Carlton. She moved to Mebane where she lived until her death. Surviving are sons: James Yarboro, Gene Yarboro (Paulette) and Michael Wilkerson (Debbie), daughters: Pam Holmes (Jim) and Barbara Rodriguez (Mario), her sister, Valeria Strum, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three brothers: Sam James, Carlton James and Erwin James, and twin sisters: Peggy and Dorothy. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel, Hillsborough, by the Rev. Dr. Judy Butler. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane.
