Roger Williams

Mr. Roger Vestal Williams, age 73, passed away on December 11, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Chapel Hill. Mr. Williams was born in Orange County to Thelma Dunnagin Williams and her late husband Dewey Vestal Williams. Roger attended schools in the Orange County School system and has lived his entire life here in Hillsborough. In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his sister, Barbara Crutchfield of Roxboro; one brother Denny Williams of Hillsborough; his Aunt Helen Dunman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Foster. The family would like to thank several groups of people who have provided loving care to Roger over the years including: the staff at Ashwood Estates in Sanford, the staff at Signature Healthcare in Chapel Hill and Betsy Collins at Collins Rest Home in Cedar Grove. A funeral service for Roger was held at 11:00am, Friday, December 15, at Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough, 204 N. Churton Street, officiating was Rev. David Bolick. The family received visitors one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable or memorials in Mr. Williams’ name may be directed to the charity of your choice.
