Peyton Leann Hawkins

Peyton Leann Hawkins A moment in our arms...a lifetime in our hearts. Peyton Leann Hawkins, infant daughter of Melissa Jo Compton and James Curtis Hawkins Jr., was stillborn on August 3, 2018, at UNC Women’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Though Peyton never spent any time with us, she touched many of our lives. Her survivors include her parents, Melissa Jo Compton and James Curtis Hawkins Jr.; grandparents, Anita Compton, Joseph Woods Compton Jr., Laurie Hawkins, and James Curtis Hawkins Sr.(Kristi); great-grandmother Gypsy Hawkins; aunt and uncles, Christopher Compton (Krystal), Jonathan Compton, Dylan Hill (Harley), and Jennifer Hawkins Dickson; great aunts and uncles, Anne Compton Garner (Johnnie), David Hawkins, Linde Glasgow, Scott Sanders, Lori Haizelip, and Justin Haizelip; and many members of Melissa and James’ blended/extended family. Peyton was preceded in death by great-grandparents Patricia Mize Compton, and Joseph Woods Compton Sr. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 11, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, located at 5218 Efland-Cedar Grove Rd, Cedar Grove, NC, with Rev. Monica Beacham officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. Walker's Funeral Home and Crematory of Mebane, is in charge of the arrangements.
