Nellie Lappi

Mrs. Nellie Dare Lappi, 88, wife of the late Edwin R. Lappi, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Lappi was born March 8, 1931 in Oxford, NC to the late Lewis Thomas and Isabella Woodlief Parrott. She was educated in the Granville County schools. She proudly served her country with the US Air Force, earning several medals, including the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Medal. Upon her honorable discharge in 1956, Mrs. Lappi worked in retial for many years. Mrs. Lappi is survived by her son, Simon E. Lappi of Carrboro. The family will have a private Memorial Service.
