Nazareth "Nazy" Ortiz

Nazareth “Nazy” Ortiz was born on January 30, 1998 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to Raul & Sonia Ortiz and passed away suddenly on December 15, 2021 at the age of 23. Nazy began her educational journey at Frank Porter Graham Elementary, matriculated to Culbreth Middle, and, in 2016 she graduated from Chapel Hill High School. While in school she played lacrosse. Following graduation, Nazy Moved to Ashville for a brief time and eventually returned to Carrboro to be closer to her family. She had hopes of becoming a nurse anesthetist. Nazy leaves behind her parents, Raul and Sonia, sister, Yuridiana, brothers, Diego and Santiago, a nephew, Zachary, brother-in-law, Armmand, a dog child, Theo, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is best remembered as a person who illuminated any room she entered and who was always willing to share what she had with anyone in need. Nazy’s spirit cannot be replicated but her light will live on through all who loved her.
