Mebane - Melvin Eugene "Bill" Buckhalter, Jr. Melvin Eugene "Bill" Buckhalter, Jr., 47, of Mebane passed away April 24, 2015 at home. He was born in Alamance County on August 30, 1967 to Mary Linda Moore Buckhalter and the late Melvin Eugene Buckhalter, Sr. Bill loved to hunt and fish and was huge fan of Nascar and drag racing. He deeply loved his family and spending time with them. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by brother, Marvin Lee Buckhalter; maternal grandparents Furman L & Lucille W. Moore; paternal grandfather, Marvin Buckhalter. Those left to cherish his memory include mother, Mary Buckhalter of Mebane; sister, Mary Lou Buckhalter of Mebane; paternal grandmother, Mary Mata of Stark, FL and step grandmother, Geraldine Cruise of Parkton, NC. Service will be 3 PM, Tuesday April 28 at Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane with Rev. Betsy Combs officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
