Maryreen Cox

Hillsborough - Maryreen Stephens Cox, 99, died Saturday, May 30, 2015. She was born in Alamance County to the late Alice and Cicero Stephens and attended the Orange County schools. She was married to the late Clayborne Cox for 53 years. She retired from Cone Mills after 40 years of service. She has no children of her own but cared for her family whom she felt as their mother. She was a loving and compassionate lady. Surviving are her brother, Roy Stephens (Molly), three nieces: Barbara S. Wagoner, Ann S. Queen and Rita Stephens, three nephews: Roger Dale Stephens, Reed Stephens, and Allen Stephens, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 12-1:45 PM Monday.
