Mebane - Mary Elizabeth Polak Mary Elizabeth Polak , 88, passed away January 6, 2015. She was born in Harbor Beach, MI September 11, 1926 to the late John E. And Susie Smaglinski Ulfig. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Raymond A. Polak; sister, Gertrude Borek and her husband Steve; brother-in-law, Leonard Soltys. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Elaine M. Whitman and her husband Ed of MI; son, Gerald R Polak and his wife Linda of Mebane, NC; sister, Selma Maurer and her husband Robert of MI; brother, John Ulfig and his wife Chris of MI; sister-in-law, Loraine Soltys of MI; three grandsons, Robbie Webster, Ronnie Webster and Jonathan Webster and his wife Christy; four great grandchildren, McKinley, Pierce, Emery and Conner. A private family service was held. Entombment will take place in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI. Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane is in charge of arrangements.
