Mary Copeland

Hillsborough - Mary Goldston Copeland, 81, died Saturday, March 4, 2017. She was a native of Cabarrus County. She was a graduate of Cabarrus County High School and received her RN from the Nursing School of Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs. She was a member of Hillsborough United Methodist Church where she was in the choir. She was a member of the Women's Circle making prayer quilts and a variety of other crafts for mission projects. She loved to sing and play the piano and enjoyed gardening. She lived a good, honorable, respectable life and was an excellent example for her children. Surviving are three daughters: Peggy C. Hamlett (Mat), Dawn M. Copeland, and Paula C. Brooks (Kevin), one son, Frederick S. Copeland (Vicki), eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Paul Goldston, and her sister, Betty Weant. The memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at Hillsborough United Methodist Church. A visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. A private interment will be held at a later date.
