Marvin Walker

Hillsborough - Mr. Marvin James Walker, 91, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was born in Orange County to Mary Woods and Miller Jackson Walker and graduated from Hillsboro High School. He married Thelma Walser. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He later moved to Florida to be near his wife's family and in 2005 moved back to N. C. to be closer to his family. He was a Seventh-day Adventist and served as Deacon. Surviving are his brother, Claude J. Walker (Naydene), nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, parents, two brothers, Robert and Knox, and three sisters: Martha, Lois, and Peggy. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cross Roads Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2:15 PM Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Animal Protection Society of Durham, 2117 E. Club Blvd., Durham, NC 27704, or to the church or charity of your choice.
