Marvin Meacham

Marvin Cook Meacham, age 86, of Chatham County, NC passed away July 7, 2015. Marvin was born to the late William Hubert Meacham and Eugenia Ivey Meacham in 1929 in Chatham County, NC. He is predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Hatley Meacham to whom he was lovingly married for 49 years. He is also predeceased by 3 of his siblings, Wade Meacham, Carl Meacham and Bill Meacham. He is survived by his sister Floy E. Crim of Chesapeake, VA. Marvin was a third generation dairy farmer where he enjoyed his livestock and farming life with his family and friends. He was an active member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving children, Marvin Keith Meacham (Donna Meacham) of New Hanover County, NC. Kim Meacham-Allen (Damon Allen) of Chatham County. Lisa Meacham-Read (Chris Read) of Chatham County. He leaves behind 6 loving grandchildren. Hank and Sydney Meacham of New Hanover County, NC. Dabney, Brennan and Colton Allen of Chatham County and Lanna Read, also of Chatham County. In addition to his grandchildren, he had many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 9th from 7 PM to 9 PM at Walker's Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, NC. The funeral will be held Friday July 10th 2 PM at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Pittsboro, NC. Interment will be following at Mann's Chapel Cemetery in Chapel Hill, NC. A reception at Mt. Pleasant Church will immediately follow the grave side services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 269 Manns Chapel Road, Pittsboro, NC. Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is honored to serve the Meacham family.
