Mark Crabtree

Mark Steven Crabtree, age 57 died of a massive heart attack on July 12, 2017 at Duke Hospital. Mark was the son of John Edward Crabtree and Peggy Holden Crabtree. He was self-employed as a paint contractor and employed at UNC Chapel Hill in the paint department. He loved riding his Harley and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mark is survived by his wife, Melita Wright Crabtree; daughters, Melissa Childers, Ashley Martin (Jeff) and Amy Patterson along with son, Richard Patterson; grandchildren are Camden and Sawyer Childers, Jayce, Ansley and Alexa Martin, as well as Sarah and Ryan Patterson, one great grandchild Aubrey Bartley, sister Iris Crabtree Tilley (Bert), brothers Morris Crabtree (Sherry), Johnny Crabtree, David Crabtree (Linda), Ricky Crabtree (Rhonda), sister in law Ann Crabtree and special aunt Margie Crabtree Wrenn. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald Wayne Crabtree. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.
