Mark Howard Cate

Mark Howard Cate, of Hillsborough, NC, passed away on May 7, 2022 at the age of 62 years. Mark was born in Pontiac Michigan and grew up in Waterford, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maggie; children Allison, Ann (Stephen) Stitzel, Mary and Christopher; parents Howard and Patricia Cate; brother, Rob (Cathy) Cate and sister, Julie (Jeff) Zenas.

Being a kind and dependable husband and father was of the utmost importance to Mark and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.

Mark graduated from Albion College with a degree in business. He spent over 30 years in the IT industry and most recently, was working as a business analyst.

He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his friends at the shooting range, and watching golf and Detroit Tigers baseball on television. Music followed Mark closely and he took great pride in cultivating his Spotify playlist over the years.

Mark was an incredible self-taught chef and enjoyed grilling for a party. Feeding people delicious food made him happy.
