Margaret Antle

Margaret Ellen Mentzer Antle of Durham passed away on April 11th at the age of 84. Mrs. Antle was married for 55 years to the love of her life, the late Charles C. Antle, Jr. She is survived by her four children, David Antle of Durham and his husband Andy Smith, Karen Antle of Chapel Hill, Chuck Antle of Hillsborough and his wife Donna, and Ellen Hernandez of Raleigh and her husband Jorge. She was also greatly loved by her 6 grandchildren: Katie, Cage, Javier, Melanie, Elena, and Luc. Mrs. Antle was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and enjoyed a career as a psychiatric nurse. She was active in the community and often volunteered her time to advocate for important social and political causes. She was a long-time resident of Chapel Hill and a member of the Newman Catholic Student Center on the campus of UNC. She shared a love of Carolina basketball with her family and also enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors in nature. After a family gathering, she will lie in rest in the Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery alongside her beloved Charles. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the Orange County Animal Shelter. Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough is assisting the Antle family.
