Marcel Deschesne

Marcel Meville Deschesne, 87, of Chapel Hill, NC, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 14, 1931, to parents Adele Thibault and Ernest Deschesne. Marcel joined the U.S. Air Force as a young man, serving in the Korean War on Sabre jets. He returned home where he met Charlotte, marrying her in 1956. Marcel was a dedicated husband and father, often working two jobs to provide for his family. Following a heart attack and tiring of the snowy winters, he and Charlotte moved their family to Florida in 1976. There he was a loyal, long-time employee of Don Olson Firestone, through whom he was able to take many fun trips with Charlotte. Marcel is survived by daughter Katharin & husband Scott Burkhardt; daughter Elizabeth & wife Mary Godard; son, David; beloved grandson, Mathew Godard; sister-in-law Celine DeSanto and her husband “Chuck,” sister-in-law Carmen Malo, and many dear nieces and nephews. Marcel was predeceased by his beloved Charlotte, on their 58th wedding anniversary 11/12/2014. A private graveside service will be held in Florida at a later date.
