Lynda Jensen

Lynda Reep Jensen, age 80, died on December 14, 2016, at Chapel Hill Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Jensen was born on December 3, 1936, in Valdese, North Carolina, to the late Lucille and Noble Reep. Lynda went to Valdese High School and then attended Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, North Carolina, earning an Associate's Degree. She married Harry M. Jensen Jr. on June 6, 1958, and they moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she received her Medical Technician training at Watt's Hospital, in Durham, North Carolina. She worked for many years at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill and at Chapel Hill OB-GYN as a lab technician. Lynda was an active member of Binkley Baptist Church, her community, and numerous clubs. She loved to read, was an avid quilter, and enjoyed travelling. Survivors include Lynda's husband Harry, her son and daughter-in-law Marty and Gena, and her daughter Susan. The Jensen family will receive family and friends for visitation on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Walker's Funeral Home, in Chapel Hill, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM on January 15, 2017, at Binkley Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. Lynda was a great supporter of improving the lives of animals and requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Paws4ever, a guaranteed-adoption organization in Mebane, NC (https://paws4ever.networkforgood.com/), or to the Orange County Animal Services in Chapel Hill, NC (http://www.orangecountync.gov/departments/animalservices/donations.php).
