Lisa Vance

Lisa Briana Speagle Vance died in her sleep early Sunday morning June 25th, 2017 at her home in Wilmington, NC, after suffering a concussion followed by a year of declining health. The beloved daughter of Pat Wakefield (Speagle) Felton of Chapel Hill, NC and the late Kenneth Rhodes Speagle of Burlington, NC. Lisa was the much loved granddaughter of the late Mary "Gail" McKee Felton of Chapel Hill, NC. Lisa is survived by the longtime love of her life chef Shaun "Fenix" Nelson of Wilmington and her younger sister Kristina Speagle Gray, attorney at law of Williamston, Michigan and her four children. Lisa was the light of our lives, a 1986 graduate of Greensboro Day School she continued her education in Virginia and California becoming an accomplished network engineer in silicon valley, a gifted photographer, an accomplished caterer, and an avid cat rescuer/foster mom. Lisa was a free spirit who loved art and music and truly appreciated the beauty of nature. Lisa's "happy place" was always the beach. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held Sunday, July 2d at 6 PM at the Juggling Gypsy in Wilmington, NC, and Monday July 3rd at 2 PM at the new Chapel Hill cemetery off Legion Road and 15-501 in Chapel Hill, NC.
