Lewis Bernice Baker

Lewis Bernice Baker, 95, of Mebane, passed away, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his home.


A native of Caswell County, he was born on June 7, 1929, a son of the late John Calvin Baker and the late Abbie Lee King Baker. Lewis was a hard worker, he retired as a tobacco farmer and then returned to work and dedicated over 15 years of service to the Town of Mebane. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his brothers on the farm. Lewis was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Christian Church.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Baker; and brother, Ralph Curry Baker.


Left to cherish his memory are his son, Bernice Baker (Terry); granddaughter, Audrey Peter (Eric); great-grandchildren, Dylan Peter and Ryleigh Peter; and brothers, John Abner Baker and Sydney Eugene Baker.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Mt. Zion Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Rick Webster officiating.


Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
