Leokadya Kozlowski Connelly Boulais Carrboro, NC Leokadya Kozlowski Connelly Boulais, 83, passed away April 23, 2012 after a long illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 21, 1929 to Josephine and John Kozlowski. She is survived by her husband Fred Boulais, sons Edward (wife Laura), John (wife Suzanne), David (wife Nicolle), daughter Grace, twelve grandchildren, stepchildren Fred (wife Carole), Kevin (wife Ginny), Gail Ekberg (husband Raymond), ten step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and her sister Joan Kozlowski. Her husband David A. Connelly preceded her in death. She attended Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois, a Master's of Science from the University of Chicago and a Ph. D. from the University of Connecticut. Her teaching career spanned thirty seven years, including brief positions in various locations within the United States and France before settling in Massachusetts where she taught for the Pittsfield Public Schools for twenty two years. Dr. Boulais taught for two years at the Hope Valley School in Durham North Carolina at the end of her career. Memorial services are scheduled at the Croasdaile Village Chapel, Durham for 2:00 PM on May 5. The Reverend Dr. Charles Mercer will conduct the ceremony. Internment will occur at Cedar Park Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
