Kurt O'Briant

Kurt O'Briant was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. He attended Durham High School. He worked at Sears for years and other jobs that ended up landing him living in Chapel Hill. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen O'Briant; father, Rex C. O'Briant and sister, Mary Nellie O'Briant. He went home to be with the Lord from Signature Healthcare facility in Chapel Hill at 10:35PM on Monday, March 11. Kurt always used to say, "I'm going to the big clubhouse in the sky." Mr. Kurt B. O'Briant was a member of Club Nova Community sinceJune 25, 1999. He enjoyed sitting out front of the Thrift Shop, greeting people and getting the door for them. He was involved in the Community Resource Court where he offered his testimony to people entering the court system, explaining how Resource Court changed his life. He was oftena huest speaker on Club Nova's behalf for the UNC School of Social Work and other departments. He had a beautiful smile and was beloved by the Club Nova Community. He will be greatly misseed by the persons whowe lives he greatly impacted. Kurt was cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date hosted by Club Nova Community Inc. Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is caring for Kurt and all the the people who cared for him.
