Kirk Tyree (Ty) Vaughan, 54, of Chapel Hill, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2018, while tracking an injured deer with his pride and joy tracking dog, Mac. Kirk and Mac were a native NC tracking team who tracked all over the North Carolina area to help hunters retrieve their wounded game. Kirk was born May 13, 1964 in Watts Hospital in Durham, NC to Noah Sidney Vaughan and Betty Jean McArthur Vaughan. He loved wildlife, being surrounded by nature and was an avid woodsman. He was a fan of bluegrass music and westerns. Ty was in the National Guard and loved to serve his country. Kirk had a passion for tracking, fishing, hunting, boating and trucking. Left to cherish his memory is his son Sidney Kirk Vaughan of Chapel Hill, Barbara O'Neal Fields of Chapel Hill, his sister Tracey Lee Vaughan Carver as well as numerous other family members. A funeral service was held Monday, October 22, 2018 at 2:00PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham, NC. Following funeral services, the family will receive guests at 53 Valleyview Lane, Pittsboro, NC 27312. The Vaughan family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill.
