Kenneth Oakley

Efland - Mr. Kenneth Wayne Oakley, 69, died October 19, 2015. He was a native of Durham and was a 1964 graduate of Durham High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy he worked in the U.S. Post Office for over 30 years until he retired. He later worked with Walker's Auto Parts and formally served as volunteer with the Hillsborough Fire Department. He was a member of Eagle Lodge 119, Hillsborough. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Adcock Oakley, his son, Ronnie Oakley, West Virginia, two grandchildren: Hannah Grace Oakley and Jacob Conner Oakley, three brothers: Mike Oakley (Libby), Creedmoor, Carl Oakley (Brenda), The Villages, FL, and Bill Oakley, Durham , his aunt, Dorothy Lipscomb, Durham, and his uncle, Thomas Adcock, Burea. He was predeceased by his parents, Julia Suggs and Harvey Oakley, and his brother, Ray Oakley. The funeral will be 2 PM Thursday, October 22, in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Efland United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 N.
