Joan Griffin Adcock

Joan Griffin Adcock, 75, of Mebane, went to her eternal home Saturday morning at UNC Hospitals, following an extended illness. Joan was born June 17, 1945, to the late Jasper and Ora Lea Turnage Griffin in Nash County, NC. The family moved to Butner as Joan was starting elementary school and lived there until she married her late husband, William Lee Adcock, Sr. (Will), they were married for 46 years. Joan leaves four children to cherish her memory. Her sons, William Adcock, Jr., and his wife, Donna, of Graham, B. Craig Adcock and his fiancée Karen Temple; and her daughters, Teresa Couch, and her husband, Dallas, and Tammy Welch, and her husband, Daniel, both of Graham; sister, Ann Browder, of Spring Hope, NC; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great grandchild, one step great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis McDonald. The family will be at the homes of William Adcock, 177 Gina Lane, Graham, Craig Adcock, 5001 Yorkstone Court, Liberty, NC, or Teresa Couch, 134 Gina Lane, Graham. The Adcock family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill.
