Jean Rollins

Mrs. Jean Pruett Rollins, a resident of Chapel Hill died on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the age of 82. Mrs. Rollins was born in Swannanoa, NC on June 4, 1937 to the late Walter and Vergie Allen Pruett. Jean loved spending time with family and friends. She also found the beauty and peace of listening to her favorite collection of gospel music while watching the birds at her home. Along with her loving husband Arnold, surviving family include daughter Lisa Rollins Byrd and her husband Zachary L. Byrd, Jr. (Jay) and grandson Brandon Byrd of Raleigh; her son, Barry Rollins and his wife Maria of Durham; four sisters, Marilyn Walker and Freida Ahmad of Black Mountain, Phyllis Ayers of Lincolnton, Judy Harris. Along with her parents, Jean was predeceased by her brothers Terry D. Pruett and Walter Pruett, Jr. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, officiated by Kori Robins. Walker’s Funeral Home of Chapel Hill has been entrusted to care for the Rollins family.
