Chapel Hill —James Thomas Horton affectionately known by his friends and family as "JT" was called to meet his heavenly father on February 16, 2013. Also surviving is his brother Trubie "Weldon" Horton. Proceeding him in death was his sister Louis Thornburg and brother Brodie Horton. JT was a lifelong resident of Chapel Hill. He was a very proud veteran of the United States Army. He collected and restored military vehicles as a tribute to all of our service men and women. He took great pride in displaying them at the American Legion and parades. He retired from the Orange County Sheriff's Office as an Investigator. Visitation will be at The Mount Carmel Baptist Church on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 12:30 through 2:00. The service will follow with Dr. Dennis Hill and Reverend Ned Thorpe presiding.
