James Blankenship

Durham - James Finley Blankenship, Jr., 57, of Durham, NC, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at his home. Born in Chicago, IL and raised in Roxboro, NC, Jim was the son of James Finley Blankenship, Sr., and the late Hester Belle Parkes. In addition to his mother, a brother and a grandson precede him in death. He was the sole proprietor of Blankenship Refrigeration, which served the Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Burlington and Mebane, NC, area. He prided himself on providing honest and reliable service to his many clients. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Bonus Blankenship, his father, James Finley Blankenship, Sr. and special friend Doris, his two sisters, Carolyn B. Hicks and her husband C. T. and Sharon Lynn Blankenship and her fiancé Mike, his brother Frederick Ray Blankenship and wife Pam, his son, James Finley Blankenship, III, a granddaughter and grandson, his loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, a host of friends, and pets. Funeral services will be held at the chapel in Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC on Thursday, February 27, 2014. at 2 PM Burial will follow at Mebane Memorial Gardens in Mebane, NC. Pallbearers will be James Blankenship, III, Dwight Solomon, Douglas Solomon, Dusty Blankenship, Henry Schroeder, Ben Zeigler and John Castagna. Alternates are Bryan Baylor and Ernie Hood.
