MEBANE - Mrs. Jacqueline Fearrington Cates, 82, died June 27, 2012. She was born in Durham County and attended Efland Cheeks School. She was a soldier of the Salvation Army where she was the Record Sgt. for many years and was a member of the Ladies Home League. She enjoyed painting pictures, embroidery, and puzzle books. She loved her family, friends, and church family very much. Surviving are four daughters: Debbie Turner (Barry), Mebane, Brenda Thompson (Roger), Elon, Linda Bland (Cecil), Elon, and Jerri Walls (William), Burlington; one step-daughter, Ann Cates Fowler (Tracey), SC, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, eight step- grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands Jonah Davis and Raymond Cates, three brothers: Frank, Billy, and Jimmy Fearrington, one sister, Frances Fearrington, and step-son, Melvin Davis. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday in Salvation Army Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday in Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane.
