Irvin Walters

Hillsborough - Irvin Dwight Walters, 89, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016. He was the son of the late Minnie Davis and Clarence Irvin Walters. He was married to the late Libby Walters for 67 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific. He retired from the NC Division of Motor Vehicles after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge #19 and Hillsborough First Baptist Church. Surviving are his daughter Mary David Gary (Charles), Oakland, CA, three sons: Dave Walters, Durham, Jim Walters (Dawn), Mebane, and Jack Walters, Hillsborough, three grandchildren: Lisa Petersen (Matt), Darla Gary, and Ava Walters, and one great granddaughter, Lyla Petersen and sister Sue Pope. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday in Hillsborough First Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Carter. Burial will be in Hillsborough Town Cemetery.
