Hoang Banh

Hoang Thoi Banh, 83, of Chapel Hill, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 12, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he spent his childhood. Hoang was an incredible singer and loved to entertain his friends and family with his talent. He spent his retirement tinkering with electronics; you never found him without his iPad! Hoang was very proud of his children, Luong (JC), his wife, Ly; Y-Ly, her husband, David Hu; Quan, her husband Fereydoon Souresrafil; Anle, her husband, Stephen Wilson; Chi, her husband, Scott Kelly; and Lan, her fiancé, Mark Reed. He is also survived by his devoted wife, Michele; his caring brother, Gooc; as well as his nine grand children: Fiona, Kian, Selena, Alex, Elika, Jasmine, Aaron, Ruth and four legged Jet Li. A memorial service will be held honoring Hoang on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00am at Walker's Funeral Home, 120 W. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UNC Hospice, P.O. Box 1077, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Please include "Hoang Banh" in your memo.
