HILLSBOROUGH - Helen Ruth Roberts Laws, 84, died Monday, May 7, 2012. She retired from Durham Community College. She was a member of Palmer's Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Teresa L. Ellis, three grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas, and Scott; and two great grandchildren, Savannah and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Robert Laws, her son, Russell Clyde Laws and her parents, Vara Sparrow and Dufford I. Roberts. The memorial service will be held 7-9 PM Thursday in Walker's Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Hillsborough Town Cemetery. walkersfuneralservice.com.
