Gwen Eldred

Gwen Eldred, beloved Mother, daughter, and friend to many, passed away on March 27, 2016. Gwen was born on June 20, 1940 in San Antonio, TX. She is predeceased by her father, John Earl Scholl, and mother, Lora Ormand Scholl. She is survived by her children, Charlie, Joe, Jeanne, and Ed, and her grandchildren, Scott, Wendy, Sophie, JJ, and Noah. After graduating Our Lady of the Lake University with a Masters in Education, Gwen taught elementary school in Texas before taking time to raise her beautiful family. She was a teacher at Sts. Peter and Paul school in Naperville, IL, and then spent thirty years at St. Thomas More Catholic School in Chapel Hill, NC. Gwen loved her church where she was very active. Her funeral Mass and celebration of life will be on April 15, at 1:00, at St. Thomas More Catholic church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Gwen Eldred scholarship fund at St. Thomas More School, a place she truly loved.
