Guilfred Hicks

Caldwell - Guilfred Freeman Hicks passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 of complications of Alzheimer's. He is survived by his three daughters: Terry Hicks Bennett of Rougemont, Laura Ann Hicks of Rougemont and Karen Hicks Davis (Eddie) of Durham, and two sons: Robert Alan Hicks (Cindy) of Georgia and John Smith Hicks of Maryland. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren,as well as a sister, Faye Hicks Craddock and a brother, Bobby Hicks (Jackie). Mr. Hicks was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mildred Hicks. He was retired from Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and was proud of his thirty year service with the NC and MD. National Guard. The viewing will take place Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A service will begin at 3:00 pm. Both will be held at Walker's Funeral Home of Hillsborough. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Florence Gray Soltys Center at 105 Meadowlands Drive, Suite 400, in back of the Orange County Senior Center and the Sportsplex.
