Gregorie Tyson

Hillsborough - Gregorie David Tyson, Sr., 59, died Saturday, January 9, 2016. He was a native of Savannah, Georgia and attended the Chatham County Public Schools. He worked at Guerry Lumber Co., T. M. Mikell Building and Repair with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, Timmy Mikell, and Friedman's Fine Arts. He was married 39 years to Joyce Mikell. He loved his family, his grandchildren and his black lab and constant companion, Hailey. He was truly a free spirited man who loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and every outdoor critter. He started playing T-ball as a child and continued to play softball as an adult in Savannah, GA. Surviving are his wife, Joyce M. Tyson, his mother, Nancy M. Tyson, his daughter, Leslie Tyson, his son, David Tyson (Katie), three brothers: Spencer Tyson (Donna), Mike Tyson (April), and George Tyson (Beth), and four grandchildren: Brandon Mikell, Victorrea Tyson, Madelyn Tyson, and Parker Tyson. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond S. Tyson. A memorial service will be held later in Savannah, GA. Walkersfuneralservice.com
