Glenda Yow Mauer

Mrs. Glenda Yow Mauer, 87, died February 10, 2022. She was born in Guilford County on Feb. 6, 1935 to the late James C. Yow and the late Lillie Mae Brown Yow.

She was preceeded in death by her grandson Joshua Binder of Chapel Hill, Sisters Mary Carden of Chapel Hill, Beatrice Gaydou of Timberlake, Doris Stafford of Burlington and Pat Yow of Chapel Hill N.C.. She is survived by her husband Charles Mauer of 67 years, daughter Linda Faye & husband Andy Campbell, Brenda Maye & husband Scott Meriwether of Youngsville, & brother John & wife Betty Sue Yow of Chapel Hill.

Glenda was member of Antioch Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed working with the youth before her own children were born.

She retired from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She spent her time enjoying her flowers which she enjoyed giving to her family & friends. Her greenhouse was filled with orchids, tomatoes, and seedlings. Beside her flowers, she enjoyed traveling, square dancing, boating and camping with her family & friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 14, at Antioch Baptist Church in Chapel Hill with the family receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
