Gladys Crabtree Gates

Gladys Mae Crabtree Gates, 82, of Chapel Hill, NC passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her home, with her family by her side. Gladys was born, August 12, 1934 in Chapel Hill, NC to the late David M. and Lilly Stout Crabtree. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She loved all children, was an avid Pepsi fan and enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Thomas Gates of Chapel Hill, NC, her son Tommy Gates of Chapel Hill, NC, three grandchildren; Alicia Gates, Joe Gates, David Gates and wife Alexandria, and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held, 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church; 9326 Bethel Hickory Grove Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27516; Rev. Elmer Joyner officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held, one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church.
