Geraldine Medlin Hoenig

Geraldine Faye Medlin Hoenig, age 88, formerly of Carrboro, NC passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her home in Davenport, Fl. Mrs. Hoenig was born in Durham, County, NC to the late Willie B and Etta Chance Medlin, and was married to the late Thomas Hoenig. She was retired from UNC Parking and Transportation, and at one time had her own catering business. She served as a hostess at Farrington Road Baptist Church where she set up for Senior Dinners and other functions. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son Billy Hoenig. Left to cherish her memory are her Sisters-In-Law, Elaine Medlin, Polly Medlin, and Lois Medlin, her caregivers, Kim and Sue Barker and several nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Journey Church at Southpoint, 5936 Farrington Rd. Chapel Hill, NC 27517. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm, with the Rev. Jason Hughes and Rev. Jim Greenlee officiating. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery.
