George Wood

George Wilber Wood died on Saturday, September 10th at his home in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He was born on September 30, 1927 in Hertford, NC to the late John Elmer and Beulah Benton Wood. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Gulledge Wood, children Mike Wood and Martha Wood Brown (Andy Brown). He also has 6 granddaughters, Laura Brown Kendall, Carrie Wood Johnson, Lindsay Wood, Sarah Brown, Katherine Brown and Katie Wood. Also, his brother-in-law Richard Coker and several nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service held at Hillsborough United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 14th at 2:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to visit the family at the home on Monday and Tuesday in the afternoon and after the service on Wednesday.
