HILLSBOROUGH - Mrs. Erma Lucas Davis, 91, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Born January 27, 1921, in Salisbury to the late Homer Franklin Lucas, Sr. and Nora Smith Lucas. She attended school in Salisbury until she moved to Hillsborough in February 1938 where she graduated from Hillsborough High School in May 1938. On November 2, 1940 she married Kelly Marvin Davis, Sr., and had two children: Betty Reed and Kelly Davis, Jr. She went to work at Farmers Mutual Exchange of Carrboro in 1944 while her husband was in the Navy. She retired in 1998 after 54 years as office manger. She was a member of Hillsborough Order of the Eastern Star and was of the Presbyterian faith. Surviving are her son, Kelly Davis, Jr., son-in-law, Albert V. Reed, Sr.; grandchildren: Imogene Davis, Houston, TX, Albert Victor Reed, Jr. (Cheryl), Hillsborough, David Reed (Charlotte), Durham, and Michael Reed (Sarah); great grandchildren: Victor Lee Reed, Michael Reed, Cathy Reed Minton, Michael Andrew Reed; great great grandchildren: Andrew Reed, William Minton, and Andrew Minton. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Kelly Davis and daughter, Betty Reed. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 19, by Rev.
